Our good friends swung tickets to the roof of their office building where we went to see the fireworks. Behind us the the Capitol. We had a very nice view of the city.
Sadie carried around her flag just about all day!
At one point, we were under a severe thunderstorm watch, and tornado warning in some areas, and we thought the weather might ruin the rest of the day. The mall was evacuated (where they set off the fireworks), and people were sent to various government buildings for shelter. We were oblivious to the happenings outside for some time, because after the parade, we went back to our friend's office, were we spent most of the day avoiding the heat. We enjoyed watching "Independence Day" (a 4th of July classic), and grazing all afternoon on yummy foods, and napping.
When the storm warnings cleared, we headed up to the roof.
Even though the storm warnings had long passed, the wind hadn't!
