A Walk to Remember

Sadie woke me up bright and early yesterday, pushing her sequin and ruffled yellow Belle dress in my hands asking me to help her get it on. I pulled it over her head. She thanked me, and told me Joe Joe was awake and I needed to get him.

Following breakfast, she helped her brother get shoes on (one blue crock, and one of her pink tennis shoes, both on the wrong feet), after getting her own black "princess shoes" on. She then got out 2 dollies, put one in a stroller for herself, and one in a twin stroller for her brother, and announced they were ready to go for a walk. Who was I to say no? We walked down to a close park (it took us almost 45 minutes to walk about 3 blocks... Joe Joe had to stop and touch everything). I am sure we were quite the spectacle: Joe Joe and his silly shoes pushing a pink matching stroller to his sister's, who was all decked out to go to a ball, and me trying to keep them on the sidewalk, and pointed in the right direction, all the while walking Muloki.

Sadie treated her dolly like a baby, holding it on her lap to go down the slide, putting it in the swing and pushing it, and even laying it down under the shade of a tree to nap.

The morning produced an adorable picture and memory of my kids I will forever cherish, and good naps for two tired friends.
