What a great experience it has been to be able to teach my kids in my own home. I look forward to it, I love it, and they have responded so well to my being a teacher, when it is our turn.
We have a little class of 4. Here they are painting with pudding.
I have thought a lot about home-schooling. Permanently.
It is my job to protect them. I am not sure if the things they will be exposed to in school is worth the trade-off.
I stayed awake most the night the other night thinking about the first time I will have to drop my Sadie off at kindergarten. I have to really decide if it is right for them, and separate my anxiety from the equation.
I love watching them light-up when they understand something. To be the first to see them LEARN something new--it is so amazing. Why should their public school teacher get all the fun when I am their MOTHER??
(Painting with pudding during the, "Joy of the Body" unit. We were learning about our senses).
I just don't know...
