National Arboretum

What a fun Friday!  Sadie got to go to work with her daddy.  She rode the bus and the train and helped him work at his desk (watching "Kung-Fu Panda" while daddy worked).   She would tell you (if you asked) that the highlight was the chocolate doughnut she got at the office.

Joe Joe and I went to pick up Sadie and Daddy around lunch time.  We grabbed some subway and headed to the National Arboretum.  The azalea bushes are in bloom, and the palate of greens and reds and purples were amazing.  The grounds are VERY extensive with plants of all sorts.  We only toured a very small portion, and will be making another trip soon!

These are columns that used to be a part of the Capitol Building.  They were removed and replaced with marble.  The columns were moved here I am guessing for aesthetics.

Physically unable to leave my camera at home, I took some pictures.  I will change some of my camera settings the next time we come, and hopefully get a little more color and light among all the over hanging shrubbery.

We could NOT get the kids to put down the stick and flag.  I would rather have happy kids with things in their hands than grouchy ones.

Little Joe Joe's foot got stuck in the bench, and sissy was helping him out.

My happy son.

My happy daughter.

The tongues-- not your normal portrait shot, however,
true to life and who they are, making these some of my favorite pictures.

We keep planning to go there, and something always comes up. No longer! Your photos are beautiful! Especially the ones with the kids laughing and sticking their tongues out. Those are the shots that years later you'll look back and think, "aw...that's the sweet look that they stopped doing and I am so glad I took a picture of it!"
