How I Love to See the Temple

Saturday was a great day. We are so blessed to have a temple so close to where we live. It only takes about 20 minutes to get to the D.C. temple. The kids and I hung out in the visitor's center, while Joe went to do some work at the temple. We would have loved to be outside on the temple grounds, but it was just too hot and sticky.

Little Joe goes around in the backpack quite a bit. Being now 6 months old, he has a bad case of what we like to call "octopus arms" where he just reaches and grabs anything he can and stuffs it directly into his mouth. I love this stage, it cracks me up, and I have to be on my toes.

Sadie thought it was so funny to chase her daddy around a bush. And just so you know, we did not curl her hair beforehand. The more humidity there is in the air, the more ringlets she gets and Shirley Temple-ish she looks.

View from the Visitor's Center

I am so thankful for temples. I can feel such peace and love simply from standing on the grounds of the temple. To feel so close to Heaven while on earth is incredible, and having my family there with me makes my heart swell with joy more than I can say. I am so thankful that because of the temple Joe, Sadie and Little Joe are mine for time, as well as eternity.
