I held him off as long as I could. Knowing that he had his 6 month well baby appointment on Monday, I knew the doctor was going to ask, "and how is he doing with solids?" I knew I needed to come armed with an answer.
On Saturday morning the 28th, his exact 6 month birthday I caved.
Joe Joe did great! I nursed him first, then we mixed oatmeal cereal with warm water (he drinks water from a cup with help).
Joe of course insisted on holding the spoon himself, which created quite a mess, and had a hard time coordinating his tongue to swallow and not suck. Mostly he lapped up the cereal like Loki would her water.
Satisfecho!

That is hilarious! We both decided to "cave" on their 6 month old birthdays too! Bradley loved holding the spoon too, and when both spoon and fingers went in the mouth - the spoon somehow got forgotten :)
OK, you have to admit that last picture looks a lot like Sadie.
yeah for solids. It's so fun the first time. William is a champ now at eating - it was super messy for a long time. But now he's eating a ton of different types of food and is a pretty good eater.
I think you ought to have more pictures of you on here.
Sho nuf buddy! You are even cute in Rice cereal. I love the picture of you as well, Miss MIA in most pictures. So I see you in pics, now I need to see ya'll in person. :)
