He is such a happy baby, I just couldn't prove it. Here is how it always went:
He smiles and coos and blows bubbles, I get all warm and fuzzy, run to get the camera, turn it on--and BAM, his attention is turned to the mesmerizing flashing lights the camera produces. Mom is no longer the most interesting thing in the world. No matter what I do, different voices I use, or sounds I produce, nothing is more intriguing than that flashing orange light.
FINALLY try after try after try, I finally got that beautiful smile on film.
Aaaah, a beautiful thing, isn't it?

I have taken literally hundreds of pictures of the "ooh look at the interesting camera" face which replaced the elusive smile I was trying so hard to capture. I'm glad you caught one. He is so handsome!
