My little Sadie has started dance class. Ballet to be exact. She calls it, "princess dancing." Close enough. Clearly, as noted by her wardrobe (onesie and Nike tennis shorts over church tights, YIKES!) as compared to 99% of the rest of the class in their leotard and tutus, I need to step up on our frilly-0-meter a little. Thanks to the princess in the jean shorts, we weren't SO bad off. She did have pink on, and for her, that is all that mattered.

She was SO darling. A little shy. She kept looking over her shoulder or peeping through the sea of cotton candy pink at me for reassurance. She would half-hearted try the dance moves, wanting to participate, but clearly too nervous to do it.

My favorite moment was when it came time at the end of class for each ballerina to take a turn dancing around the room and demonstrate what they had learned. Some held their hands over their heads and tip toed around, others flapped their arms and ran, one did a spin. All the girls participated with out hesitation. Sadie went last (after she was skipped once because she declined), and would not go alone. Miss Cady had to hold her hand and go with her. Sadie pretty much just went for a stroll holding her teacher's hand, then sat down, satisfied.
